Horse Racing more than a Race.

Along the years horse racing has been known as the "sport of the kings" but sometimes the younger generations don't know exactly the sport, maybe part of the fault is because there is not much publicity about the horse racing and the one we see is more focus on older generations, so people between 20 to 30 are not much interest in the races, and have more knowledge about football, basketball or baseball.

How to make races more interest to new public?

Sometimes when people mention horse racing they think about bet money, pick a horse in a race and try to get some money, and that is one of the problems they have, they are actually giving the wrong images to the sport. That image makes the races look bad, because you hear some body taking a kid to a race they begin to think in a bad example because the gambling inside, they need to make a more "familiar" environment.

How I said, younger people are not used to go to a track a weekend to see a horse mostly on the city, but the administration needs to be more open to new and younger kind of fans. Have the chance to be on the horses and take a picture, in some places are some kind of "concerts" after the race, they bring some bands to entertain the public when all races are over so they can enjoy a little more.

The idea is not to change the traditions that they have for the sport but adopt new ones, I could think that in a good way of have new people's attention is to teach or give riding lessons, have some kind of institute where they can also meet the tracks, jockeys and horses, so they can know who is the people that compete, dates of the races and can actually assist to see the competitions.

Horse racing has so much to give and it just more than a simple race with horses running around a track like without of sense, but deeply, it is a great sport that teach healthy competition, commitment, in some way a relation of teamwork between the breeder, trainer, jockey and horse, if all the elements work, it could give positive results, and also all combine makes an awesome show to any public, just have to work in that.
