Horse Race Betting

When a player wants to start betting on horse races but has no knowledge of the factors you should consider to make winning bets, it's best to learn, read books, seek information that will bring security, and investigate some of the horses that like to gamble. If this is your case, pay attention to some aspects that are important to analyze before making a hasty bet.

Back or Lay

The main and most important to define in horse betting is whether to bet for or against a horse. Bet backs is usually more complicated because you have to guess the winner, however like all bets as higher the risk, greater the profit. On the other hand, if you choose to go for Lays that our horse does not win, and we bet right.

The Play placed.

If we decide to gamble for a good tactical move is usually to cover the winner with a bet placed. The placed is also called EW. An Each way bet (EW) is in general a way to see two bets. A win bet like above and a place bet.

This move is to focus on only one horse and bet, this will be among the first in the race. However, in some races of 4 riders or less, this option is not available.

In races of 5 to 7 runners, the EW is the first and second horse to reach the finish line, while racing from 9 to 15 riders, are the first three. In case that the race will be of 16 or more runners, the EW are often the first 4 but this is not always the same, so the best way to be sure of it, is reading the rules of each race.

For example, in Maiden style racing (amateurs horses), even if there are many of them competing, the EW are usually only 3, at most.

When we played in the traditional bookmakers, should be marked on the time the horse that you consider that will be the winner. Similarly, you should play the same amount to win, and to placed. However, some exchange houses have different rules, by this reason they define the winner and the placed as different markets.
